KANES FOODS FINDS THE SOLUTION WITH RIGGS AUTOPACK
An excellent reputation for depositing accuracy and supplying high quality equipment, has secured Riggs Autopack Ltd an order from Kanes Foods, one of the UK’s best known manufacturers of dressed salad dishes for major supermarket chains.
Kanes Foods are industry renowned for supplying a wide range of choice dressed salads,
coleslaw and mayonnaise based salads. As a large scale producer, they rely on their
automated depositing and filling equipment to cope with high production demands and
provide exceptional quality standards in finished goods. Before turning to Riggs Autopack,
the Worcestershire based food manufacturer had previously purchased their depositing
machines through other equipment suppliers but were now experiencing a variety of
problems, with specific issues relating to deposit accuracy, hygiene, strip down and
cleaning.
Having previously used Riggs Autopack for the supply of replacement depositing nozzles,
Kanes Foods decided to turn to the Lancashire based depositing specialists to provide a
more accurate and hygienic system. Following the first on-site meetings and subsequent
site trials, it soon became clear that Riggs Autopack were able to provide a superior
method of depositing and the company subsequently placed an order with Riggs to supply
4 off Model 1000 Low Mount Semi-Automatic Depositors.
Offering outstanding flexibility, accuracy and weight control, Riggs Autopack’s Model 1000
depositors are ideal for Kanes Foods, due in part to their quick changeover times, hygienic
design and ease of use for the operators. The machines have been integrated into existing
production lines at the company’s Worcestershire premises and have instantly solved previous production concerns by dramatically improving deposit accuracy, strip down, reliability and hygiene.
Kanes Foods Production Manager Mr Keith Lewis, is delighted with the capabilities of the
new machines and has been particularly impressed with the ease at which the equipment has been incorporated into the production line.
He commented: ‘‘We have bought depositors from other companies over the years which
were acceptable at the time of purchase but which had now become outdated, and we
were struggling with issues relating to accuracy, hygiene and cleaning, it had become clear
that upgrades were necessary, after extensive researching of what was available it
became clear that what Riggs offered was a significant step forward’’
