An Ayrshire-based family butcher business has launched its innovative Single Portion Pie range into all 62 Asda stores across Scotland. We hae meat – based at Cairnhill Farm, four miles east of Girvan – believes the Scotch pie category has become increasingly constrained by lack of choice and unadventurous fillings.

Through the creation of a new range inspired by current flavour trends – including BBQ Pulled Pork, Balmoral Chicken, BBQ Pulled Beef and Chicken Curry – We hae meat is shaking up the traditional image of the Scotch pie. The Single Portion Pie range uses a recognisable scotch pie shell but is however finished with a light, buttery puff pastry top.

Combining Quality Assured meat from the family farm with ingredients from other carefully selected producers, the meat fillings reflect consumer demand for provenance and traceability. The finished result hails the arrival of the modern Scotch pie.

Launched exclusively into Asda stores and retailing at £1.50 each, the innovative Single Portion Pie range can be eaten as a hot snack, a quick lunch or as part of a filling main meal.

We hae meat – run by husband and wife team Carlyn and Alex Paton – employs over 50 people and produces a range of premium, handcrafted meat products using beef sourced directly from the family farm in Ayrshire.
