FrieslandCampina Kievit, which specialises in food ingredients based on spray-dried emulsions, and Lacto-Misr, the Egyptian baby food manufacturer, have signed a collaborative agreement for the production of creamers. Lacto-Misr is to produce creamers for tea and coffee for FrieslandCampina Kievit.

The move is FrieslandCampina Kievit’s response to strongly increasing demand for premium quality spray-dried ingredients in this region. Both parties have agreed a collaborative partnership whereby Lacto-Misr will make production capacity available, and FrieslandCampina Kievit will be responsible for the supply of raw materials, and marketing.

Part of Netherlands-based dairy multinational Royal FrieslandCampina, FrieslandCampina Kievit currently produces approximately 200,000 tonnes of spray-dried emulsions annually for the food industry. It has subsidiaries in Meppel, Salatiga (Indonesia) and Lippstad (Germany). Lacto-Misr of Egypt is headquartered 50 km to the north-east of Cairo.

Collaboration with local partners is part of FrieslandCampina Kievit’s growth strategy. It enables FrieslandCampina Kievit to better serve both local and international customers through a more efficient supply chain and lower landed costs.
