Meadow Foods Appoints Commercial Director
Meadow Foods, the UK’s largest independent dairy company, has appointed Mark Chantler as group commercial director. He joins the executive board with responsibility for implementing the group’s strategy for growth, including acquisitions, and more immediately the expansion and development of their production facility at Chester.
Mark Chantler, the son of the company’s executive chairman Simon Chantler, graduated with a first class honours degree in Economics from Newcastle University. During his time at Meadow he has worked as a project manager spending time in each division of the family business.
The company, founded in 1992 by Simon Chantler and John Pickering, now employs more than 250 people and has a turnover in excess of £400m. Meadow Foods purchases milk from over 600 dairy farmers and operates from factories inChester,Peterboroughand Holme-on-Spalding Moor. Their products include cream, butter, sweetened condensed milk, anhydrous milk fat, chocolate crumb and cultured products.
