Adhesives offer industry high speed sticking power
HB Fuller has launched two adhesives to help customers get food products packaged and shipped faster.
SFA8605 Solvent Free Laminating Adhesive is suitable for snack applications including stand up pouches for dry snacks and offers line speeds up to 1,200 feet a minute.
Goods can be shipped as little as two days after the adhesive’s application, with slitting in as little as six hours, and pouching and zipping in as little as one day.
SB7200/XAS2283 Solvent-Based Laminating Adhesive has high green bond strength and is well suited for demanding food packaging applications, including triple layer and greater laminations, according to HB Fuller.
High level of heat resistance
The adhesive offered a high level of heat resistance for use in microware, boil-in-bag, hot fill and pasteurisation applications, as well as a high-level of product resistance to withstand aggressive-filled goods, it added.
It enabled shipping of goods in as little as three days, with slitting in as little as four hours and pouching and zipping in as little as 24 to 48 hours the firm claimed.
Both solvents are part of its Flextra Fast range of products and adhere well to most materials, including foil, nylon, metalised films and high-slip sealants and offer excellent appearance, it claims.
“We evaluated our existing line and saw an opportunity to develop two new products to give our customers more choices to better meet their specific performance and application needs,” said Brian Glasbrenner, North American sales manager, flexible packaging at HB Fuller.
