Mettler-Toledo Safeline has launched an x-ray detection machine that is claimed to operate using less power
The X3310 is able to detect foreign bodies such as glass, metal, stone, high-density plastic and bone fragments. According to Mettler-Toledo, the technology uses a 20 watt x-ray generator as opposed to the 100 watts used in “traditional x-ray machines”.
“The X3310 system is the cutting edge of product inspection,” said Daniela Verhaeg, marketing manager at Mettler-Toledo Safeline X-ray. “Our system maximises productivity and profitability for food and pharmaceutical manufacturers, reduces energy consumption while meeting and exceeding global and retailer food safety initiatives.”
In addition, the machine has a single vertical x-ray beam and is available in 300mm or 400mm detector widths to suit a wide range of applications.
