Linkx tray erector loader saves space for Huegli
In response to a request from Huegli, a global food supplier with international expertise, to supply an automatic tray erector loader that would fit into an extremely restricted space at the company’s Redditch plant, Linkx Systems has developed and manufactured an exceptionally compact machine that occupies less space than the manual loading station it replaces.
Designed primarily for use with rectangular footprint Ceka Can, which make very efficient use of retail shelf space, the new Linkx Tray erector loader produces erects and glues trays in three user-selectable sizes, including the increasingly popular 1 x 6 can shelf-ready format.
Size change is fast and straightforward, as is the operation of the machine, which is controlled and monitored by a touch-screen operator panel.
The new Linkx tray erector loader, which features a two-gun hot melt gluing system to maximise tray integrity, has a maximum infeed rate of 60 cans per minute, and a maximum output of 10 loaded trays per minute.
An additional feature of this innovative machine is that it can optionally operate simply as a tray erector, forming and gluing trays from pre-cut blank board, without loading them with product. This is a useful option for Huegli as it allows stocks of empty trays to be produced ready for manual loading to deal with peaks in demand.
