Weidenhammer creates packs for German cheese brand
Composite can maker Weidenhammer has provided packs for cheese maker Goldsteig’s range of products
The German mozzarella brand’s packaging has incorporated Weidenhammer’s In-Mould Labelling system. According to Weidenhammer, side and bottom labels are integrated without edges in a single step, giving the cup a “soft, rounded underside, with a nice look & feel for consumers”.
The polypropylene cup is sealed with a composite film and is gastight. This is designed to keep the mini mozzarellas fresh and aromatic. A salt brine prevents the cheese from drying out.
“A realistic, three-dimensional image of mozzarella on the cup was extremely important to our client,” says Andreas Rothschink, Weidenhammer Plastic Packaging sales director. “Thanks to our expertise in the In-Mould Labelling process, we managed to meet these requirements and develop a solution that makes the product stand out from the competition at the point-of-sale.”
Weidenhammer manufactures 225-gram stay-fresh cups for the Goldsteig Bambini Mozzarella product in Zwenkau, Germany.
