The finalists for the 2020 InnoBev Awards have been announced. Organised by food and drink experts Zenith Global, the awards celebrate the best in innovation across the global soft drinks industry.

This year’s awards attracted over 120 entries worldwide. The finalists and winners have been selected by an eminent panel of independent judges who represent all corners of the global industry. Winners will be announced via an online awards ceremony on 30 June.

“Innovation has undoubtedly been disrupted by the coronavirus lockdowns but, if anything, that’s driving greater focus on benefit and attitude,” comments Zenith Global Chairman Richard Hall. “The most innovative emerging categories appear to be CBD drinks, alkaline water, non-alcoholic alternatives and tonics, cold brew coffee and kombucha.

“The industry has moved on from a pre-occupation with sugar reduction, with clear dividing lines now drawn between zero and regular products, each promoted with their own respective strong positive messages. Cans and glass are definitely attracting more attention, with PET concentrating on sustainability developments, especially in relation to recycling,” he concludes.
