MOGUNTIA Establishing New Future-oriented IT Infrastructure With Infor
Infor, a leading provider of industry-specific cloud applications, has announced that MOGUNTIA FOOD GROUP, a spice producer focusing on meat processing based in Basel, Switzerland, has decided to introduce Infor’s Food & Beverage suite in the cloud to consolidate its IT infrastructure. This will help enable MOGUNTIA to adhere to customary certifications more efficiently and to gain better transparency and insights into its twelve largest branch offices in Europe. The implementation of the ERP system Infor M3 which is part of the CloudSuite will be handled by Infor’s Gold Channel Partner, BE-Terna.
Meeting conditions for certifications for the standardization of production processes, such as the International Feature Standards (IFS) or the British Retail Consortium (BRC), has become an essential task in the industry. The food & beverage application suite will integrate all related production, warehouse, logistics and finance systems and processes.
Infor M3 for the food industry serves as the central element. The solution will be rolled out by BE-Terna using the “eaglepm” project method, installing the solution in all branches of the corporate group beginning in Kirchbichl, Tyrol. The first phase started between summer 2016 and April 2017 at nine branches, while the others – including Indasia Gewürzwerk GmbH in Georgsmarienhütte, Lower Saxony – will now follow in a second phase.
By aligning the ERP solution with Infor Optiva, a PLM solution for process manufacturing, as well as the warehouse mobility solution FactoryTrack, MOGUNTIA wants to track all raw materials and processes efficiently throughout the entire company, enabling the company to quickly and efficiently respond to opportunities and issues. In addition, Infor d/EPM (Dynamic Enterprise Performance Management) will help ensure that all production plants have the best information across the entire organization. Infor d/EPM has been in use in financial accounting in the German-speaking region since late 2016, making reporting faster and more efficient. In particular, sales will soon benefit from cost and income accounting functions, being able to access production and purchasing figures. Infor ION, Infor’s open middleware, provides the interfaces necessary to make all components interact smoothly.
“The application package helps us gain external certification of our internal processes. Our customers also benefit from this because they can be sure that our production meets the highest quality standards,” says Ralph Buchholz, owner of the MOGUNTIA Food Group. “The solution also help us to perform analytics much faster and more thoroughly than ever before.”
“In an industry where production standards are so important constant monitoring of all processes is an absolute must. Our suite for the food industry fits this purpose perfectly,” says Jörg Jung, Managing Director Central and East Europe, Infor. “With this implementation, the MOGUNTIA Food Group and BE-Terna demonstrate how a modern IT infrastructure needs to be: integrated, efficient and, above all, future-ready.”
