‘APS Group Trials The Leading Performance Management Software, TrakSYS’
Cimlogic have recently undertaken a line performance study at APS Group, a Print Management and Marketing Services Company to measure key performance metrics such as OEE, TEEP and Takt in real-time, using LEANTrakTM a portable cut down version of TrakSYSTM.
The trial was implemented at APS Group in Stockport by connecting a LEANTrak unit using just two sensors to a printing line, and capturing performance data over a period of several days in January 2011. Line performance data was collected in real-time and stoppage events and notes were entered by the crew.
LEANTrak captured every minor stoppage, as well as inviting operators to enter downtime reasons for major stoppages from a predefined list, configured by Cimlogic on the day.
APS were able to view reports detailing metrics such as Availability, Performance and Quality both in real-time and historically.
At the end of the trial Cimlogic collated the data and presented it back to APS as a concise report. The report was constructed in a way that exposed areas of opportunity for measurable improvement, and illustrated the real financial benefits of improving OEE.
LEANTrak calculates metrics such as OEE, TEEP, Takt time and MTBF using a series of over 50 built in reports. Pareto analysis as well as line speed trends are used to present performance in a very user friendly way.
