Orkla Buys Pama Brand
Okla, the leading branded consumer goods company in the Nordic region, has purchased the Pama brand, a local brand offering consumers porridge rice in Denmark and Sweden, from PepsiCo for an undisclosed price. Pama had been a part of PepsiCo since its acquisition of The Quaker Oats Company in 2001.
Orkla Foods Danmark is currently distributor of Pama products on behalf of PepsiCo.
“Orkla holds a leading position in the Danish grocery sector, in an extensive range of food products categories. With the purchase of Pama, we have strengthened our portfolio with an iconic brand that has a strong position with Danish consumers,” says Carsten Hänel, chief executive of Orkla Foods Danmark.
The deal includes the transfer of the trademark. There will be no transfer of employees or production facilities.
